Hi Ma!

Geez! I can't believe it's only 10 days to go! How about I bring my bike to Florida and we can turn around and do the ride E->W? From all the reports, we'd have tail winds the whole way!

Sorry to hear about the road surface conditions. Bumpy roads are at least as bad as headwinds (if not worse). It's just so jarring and hard to SEE!

Thought I'd let you know about another family event. Paul David had his first communion last saturday. Chet and I attended the service along with the Walthers and Aunt Kathy & Uncle Gregg. Dad was in Louisiana (at least he let us know he was GOING!!). Paul David was one of about six kids who read a responsorial psalm (man! it took me a few minutes to remember that term). He did a super job - very clear and composed. He was just adorable as you can imagine in his little suit and tie. Miriam and her mom put together a lovely lunch at the house after the mass. Some neighbors and friends came over to the house after the mass too - all nice folks. Took some photos so you can see Paul David all dressed up. Paul & Juliana's cat had six (?) kittens on mother's day. Their eyes haven't even opened yet, but all seem healthy and adorable. Dad said he's taking two of the smaller ones. He said it's lonely at the house without you and the kittens would be nice to have around. Just kidding!

Kathy, Gregg, Chet, & I had a fascinating talk with Louise about her many years serving as a short-term foster mom for infants. I'd never talked to her before about those years, her experiences, and opinions. Our conversation was very interesting. What a selfless and admirable offering to the community!

Anyway, no big events since I last wrote. Just house/yard stuff and work stuff.

We can't wait to see you in St. Augustine!

Lots & lots of love, Christina
